SEOUL, KOREA – November 14, 2007, Samsung Electronics has won 32 awards for innovations design and engineering
from International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008, which opens in Las Vegas January 7-10, 2008. The list of CES
Innovations 2008 Awards Honorees was announced on November 14, and it included twelve Samsung audio/video and consumer
electronics products (4 TVs, 1 MP3 player, 1 home theater system, 1 camcorder, 1 combination HD disc player, 1 set of Bluetooth

NTT Docomo to update 7 mobile phones!

Here's a look at the "new" phones that NTT Docomo will soon put on sale!

This slider phone is made by Mitsubishi Electric and features a 3.1 inches TFT screen (480x864), a 3.2 MPx camera with AutoFocus, a motion control system plus the usual thingies. Dimensions and weight go like 110x49x18.7mm and 132g. The battery can last 200 minutes in GSM and 3G mode and up to 530 hours when you just let it sleep. 5 colors are available: Orange, Yellow, Metal Black, White, Rose and Gold.

Another E-Dictionary from Sharp

In Japan (Korea too), electronic dictionaries are a big deal, and there are many to choose from when you decide to purchase one; but somehow, most have lost their "soul", by offering more and more options and getting away from their initial purpose = translating !!!

We, at AkihabaraNews, do care about Geeks healthcare and one of THE best companies out there to make sure you're fine is OMRON.

This time no blood pressure monitor or thermometer, but an electric toothbrush!

The SACD for Super Audio CD is supposed to provide "uber" good sound, and I'm sure that all the music loving Geeks already have one at home... or maybe not... Today TEAC is coming up with the "VRDS X-05", an SACD + CD-R/RW player... so, how much would you pay for this? Well I guess not the 500,000 Yen (3,000€) that it costs...

Plug & Charge by Brighton

Need a small and colorful way to recharge any USB thingy? If you're a TRUE geek, that is very likely, so you should appreciate the arrival of the "Bi-Plug" by Brighton. On one side the plug (good for USA and Japan, the others would need a special adapter) and on the other the USB, simple as that.

Ok, this is nothing new, but if ever you want to recharge a USB mouse, an iPod, anything, it sure can be useful!

There is no limit to what the USB can be used for, and here comes another example, thanks to Thanko.
Depending on which hemisphere you live in, the temperatures have started to severely drop, unless the Global Warming Effect has kicked in again, and you may soon be in need of some USB help; that is the reason for the existence of the HiPad (or HotPad)!

Just make sure you unplug it in time, if not, we will gladly publish your laptop crash baby pics!
